Lucile Katherine Tanneberg, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Maplewood Nursing Home, Sauk City. She was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1916 to the late Fred and Frieda (Albright) Schwiesow. She married William Tanneberg, January 23, 1937. Lucile worked as a house keeper at the University of Wisconsin, Madison Dormitories and later at Sauk Prairie Hospital before she retired in 1984. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with family. Lucile was known for her Green Thumb, and enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers, which she shared with everyone.
She is survived by 2 sons; William Tanneberg Jr. and John (Kay) Tanneberg.
3 daughters; Darlene Tisdale, Mary Ann (Gary) Leiser, and Kim (Charles) Horton.
11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. A brother George Schweisow and sister Madge Houle, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Tanneberg Sr., and a daughter Linda Rohr.
As per Lucile's wishes, no services will be held. In honor of Lucile, please plant something in her memory. Interment will be held in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery.
