Lucille M. (Hatz) Sprecher-Propst, age 97, passed away at the Meadows in Spring Green on Sat. June 18, 2016. She was born in the Sumpter Twnshp. on Sept. 29, 1918 to the late Jacob and Ruth (Gasser) Hatz. She was a graduate of Prairie du Sac High School, class of 1937. She was united in marriage to Earl A. Sprecher on June 5, 1943; he preceded her in death in 1972. Lucille married Wesley Propst on June 11, 1977; he preceded her in death in 1998. She formerly worked at Badger Army Ammunition Plant and cooked for 18 years in the Sauk Prairie School district. Lucille enjoyed quilting, collecting glassware, and traveling. She was a member of the Little Prairie Homemakers, Sauk Prairie Hospital Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star, and AARP.
Lucille is survived by 4 daughters, Jean (William) Brew of Wis. Dells, Judy (Michael) Wehler of Plain, Janet (Gary) Bruski of Pewaukee, Joanne (John Welty) Sprecher of Milwaukee; step-children, Eldean Walling of Wis. Rapids, Wayne (Mary White) Propst of Beaver Dam, Elaine (Roger) Neundorf of Beaver Dam; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Wayne Hatz.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thur. June 23, 2016 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Black Hawk; S.10173 County Road C, Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of service. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
