Lucille Ann Roelke, age 91, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center in Fitchburg. She was born at home in Roxbury on July 26, 1919, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Fassbender) Fass. She was united in marriage to Victor M. Roelke on August 26, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1989. Lucille was a lifelong member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Roxbury where she taught Religious Education, and was a member of the Christian Mothers Guild. She enjoyed volunteering in her 4-H group and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She is survived by six children, Fred (Julie) Roelke of Sauk City, Barb (Ron) Wagner of Waunakee, Larry (Lois) Roelke of Waunakee, Rich Roelke of Sauk City, Susan (Mark) Wood of Madison and Scott (Kathi) Roelke of Eagan, MN; 11 grandchildren, Chad (Heather), Robin and Josh Wagner; Jesse (Wendy) and Megan Roelke; Travis (Melanie), Zach (Angie), Heidi and Shane Wood; Devin and Lexi Roelke
3 great-grandchildren, Meg and Owen Wagnerand Violet Roelke; a sister, Marian Endres; a brother, Roman Fass; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary; two brothers, Charles and Marvin; and a grandchild, Sean Wood.




A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at ST. NORBERT'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Roxbury. Burial will be in St. Norbert's Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010 at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, and also at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
