Lucille J. Royston, age 97, died October 1, 2016, at Milestone Living Center, Cross Plains, Wisconsin. She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Mazomanie, where she lived much of her life. She was a member of the American Gold Star Mothers, Council of Catholic Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Handy Homemakers, and Red Hats. Lucille was very active in her church as both Lector and Commentator. She made all the baptismal robes for over 20 years and helped with the funerals at the Parish Center; and served as both a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader. She worked at Wisconsin Heights High School for over 19 years as a Study Hall Aid, and then substituted for 14 additional years, receiving the J.C.Penney Golden Rule Award in recognition for Outstanding Volunteer Service with WHHS.
Lucille is survived by her children, Ronald, Patricia (Robert) Gutwiler, Kenneth (Annie), Clark (Ester); eight grandchildren, Jeff (Lori), Lombardo, Elaine (Richard) Perry, Alan (Kimberly) Royston, Fiona (Chris) Hunt, Yvette (Mike) Kindschi, Dean (Jennifer) Gutwiler, Chase and Sage Royston; great-grandchildren, Tyson, Trevor, Ellie, Sonny, Sean, Alan, Eli, Trent, Shawn, and Sara; great-great grandchild Alexa; her sisters, Angie Kryshak and Virginia Paszek; and brother-in-law, Philip Ritger. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Alan, and parents Leo and Clara Wadinski; sisters, Emily Murkowski, Dolores Marzynski, Leona Ritger, and Alvina Szymanski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Mazomanie. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held the morning of the mass from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at the Hooverson Funeral Home, Mazomanie.
