IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lynette H.
Theis
April 28, 1945 – November 29, 2024
Lynette H. Theis, age 79, passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison on Nov. 29, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Baraboo to the late Marvin and Armella (Breunig) Nolden. Lynette grew up and attended Sauk City High School, graduating in 1963. She worked in downtown Sauk City for Ganser's 5&10. Lynette met Stanley Theis at a dance at Fish Lake; they later married Oct. 15, 1966, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City. Lynette joined Stan on his family farm in Marxville where they continued to farm in the Berry and Mazomanie Townships. She worked side by side with Stan on the farm until they later retired to Prairie du Sac.
Lynette was a former active member of St. Norbert Church in Roxbury where she previously served on the church council and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed music and sharing her gift with others and the friendships she made on two chorus trips to Europe. Lynette enjoyed serving her community as well, serving as a member on the SP Community Club, Caring Tree committee and with Badger Honor Flight. It was those events she looked forward to making new friends and acquaintances. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her book clubs and the recommendations received. Lynette enjoyed cooking and baking for family events and sharing her photography from her trips, quilting and crocheted projects with her friends and family.
Lynette loved traveling with Stan and her sisters, whether by utv or cruise ship, they were fortunate to travel to many different countries and states; highlights being trips to Costa Rica, New Zealand, Australia, Alaska and Nova Scotia. One of the most memorable, being a trip out west with Stan following the rodeo circuit until it ended with the Calgary Stampede.
Above all things Lynette loved her family and especially her granddaughters. She could always be counted on as a devoted friend and a kind neighbor.
She is survived by her husband, Stan; sons, Ben (Michelle) Theis and Phil Theis and his daughters, Faylynn and Danilee. Her sisters, Charlene Sperry, Linda (Richard) Meier, Christine Wilhelm, Myra (Dave) Weiss, Monica (Rod) Schroeder, and Nyla Nolden. Lynette is survived by in-laws on the Theis side of the family Lee (Sue) Theis, Don (Kathy) Theis, Marvin (LaVonne) Theis, Marjorie (Mike) Martig and Carol (Mark) Kvernen as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by 2 siblings, Marlene and Harlan and 2 brother in-laws, Allan Brickl and Wallace Wilhelm.
Lynette's family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Santiago Hernandez and the caregivers and staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their compassionate and attentive care of Lynette.
As per Lynette's wishes, a celebration of her life will be held from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm at the Dorf Haus, 8931 County Hwy Y, Roxbury on Dec. 8, 2024 where reflections of Lynette's life will be spoke at 1:00 pm.
