Obituary

Mabel Frances Hepola, born Mabel Frances Ballweg on July 24, 1929, in the Township of Roxbury, passed away after several years of being weakened by Progressive Supranuclear Palsey, on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at the age of 79, at the Maplewood Nursing Home of Sauk Prairie. She was cared for at home until September 2008. James Hepola and Nancy Miller were her primary caregivers. Olga, Natalia and Cherish were also excellent aides during her illness. She married James D. Hepola on Aug. 3, 1968, in Sauk City. Jim and Mabel lived with their nine children in Oshkosh until retiring in Prairie du Sac in 1997. She is survived by her husband, James D. Hepola of Prairie du Sac; her nine children, Andrew Hepola of Anchorage, Alaska, Thomas Hepola of Palmer, Alaska, Joseph Zander of Randolph, Mark Hepola of Lakewood, Colo., John Hepola of Maple Grove, Minn., Mary Stewart of Dodgeville, Christopher Hepola of Scottsdale, Ariz., Douglas Hepola of Denver, Colo., and David Hepola of Aurora, Colo; and 17 grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at 11 a.m. at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. Donations may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. Mabel was a wonderful, beautiful woman and is sorely missed.
