Obituary

Madelene Rose Odor, 01/06/2019-12/04/2023, her gentle soul, though a bit mischievous, passed from this world on Monday, December 4th, 2023. Madelene was a people person who wasn't able to be around people because of an ultra-rare condition called Congenital Athemia. With this condition, Maddie had to spend close to half of her life in the hospital, unfortunately, unable to meet any family or friends under 18 because of the risk of exposure due to COVID and hospital restrictions. After her first hospital stay of 14 months, Maddie was finally able to come home on March 9th, 2020. She was confined indoors with no ability to feel and touch the world. Everything had to be cleaned, sanitized, and brought to her. Some might say she was a bit spoiled but deserved every bit of it. Her favorite things to do were to sit in her chair, watch out the window at the bird feeder, people walking their dogs, and snow while shaking on her vibration board. Her sass will be remembered by all who met her. Her most important things in life were head rubs, butt pats, and her vibration board. Even though never being able to be around children and the inability to talk, she was effective with sign language and her facial expressions to get across what she wanted and express her feelings. She was very good at letting you know that YOU were in trouble with one look!

She is survived by her father, Adam Odor; grandmother Teresa Reul and her 2 sisters; Adam's sister, Sara-Ann Schmitz (husband Andrew), their 5 children and 3 grandchildren; Adam's aunt, Janet Oakley (husband Jim) their 2 children and 2 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Tiffany Higginbotham (husband Caleb), her 3 children, and 2 stepsons, Aliyah-din Flood, Rylie Mae, and Garrett Simler, Michael and Hunter Higginbotham; grandparents, Patrick (wife Rosie) Masseur Jr., grandparents, Barb and Kenneth Henningsen; Tiffany's sisters and brothers, Kenneth (wife Heather) Henningsen Jr. (3 children and 2 grandchildren), Anthony (wife Christy) Masseur (8 children), Samatha Masseur (husband Cory Valentino) 5 children; Angelina (husband Lonne) Hauge (2 children).

A memorial service will be held at Victory Center Church, 1711 Thierer Rd., Madison on Jan. 6th, 2024 at 10:00 am; visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
