Obituary

Madelyn J. "Sally" Beerkircher, age 88, died on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in Linden, Wisconsin on March 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Royal and Eva (Liddicoat) Jewell. She was united in marriage to Merlyn Beerkircher on October 2, 1937 in Maquoketa, Iowa. Sally was a member of First United Church of Christ in Sauk City. She is survived by three children, Paul (Midge) of Prairie du Sac, Patricia (John) Boehmer of Prairie du Sac, and Allan (Paulette) of Parker, CO; six grandchildren, Tim Beerkircher, Cheri (friend John) Beerkircher, Fawn (Jeff) Dyrud, Kristeen (Tom) Litscher, Jill (Matt) Peirick, and Julie (Justin) Phillips; three step-grandchildren, Rod (Michele) Kruckman, Deana (friend Wade) DeYager, and Shawn (Matt) Mezera; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-granddaughter; four sisters, Audrey (Gilbert) Graber, Carol Millard, Shirley Peat, and Janice Carey; special friend, Doris Blum; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Glen Jewell; a sister, Ruby Paull; and three brothers-in-law, Milo Paull, Kenneth Peat, and Robert Carey. Private funeral services will be held with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. Sally's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Maplewood, especially the Evergreen Unit, for the love and compassion shown to their mother and her family.
