Marcella Marie Deischer, age 91, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in the town of Sumpter, Sauk County, October 7, 1919, to the late Martin and Pearl (Farris) Accola. She attended Hillside Grade School and Prairie du Sac High School, Class of 1937. She was united in marriage to Wayne Donald Deischer on November 20, 1940. Don and Marcella farmed in the Black Hawk area from 1945-1963. During their farming years Marcella was very active in 4-H Club, Happy Hustlers. She was employed many years at the Sauk Prairie Schools and later with Graber Mfg. in Middleton, retiring in 1981. After retiring they moved to Arcadia, Florida and enjoyed many winters there with their "snowbird" friends. Summers were spent volunteering at EAA in Oshkosh with friends from all over the United States. They returned to Baraboo in 2003 to be near their children and relatives. Marcella loved to cook, knit, and crochet and made lovely afghans for her grandchildren. The grandkids will always remember the delicious chocolate chip cookies and decorated birthday cakes she made for them while they were growing up.

She is survived by a son, Jerry (Betty) of Prairie du Sac; a daughter, Nancy (Lee) Francke of Prairie du Sac; 5 grandchildren, Chris (Todd) Pauley of Baraboo, Jim (Sarah) Deischer of Verona, Jeff (friend Kristina) Deischer of Janesville, Tim (Chris) Francke of Prairie du Sac and Terry (Tom) Steinhorst of Baraboo; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Harvey (Marge) Accola of Prairie du Sac; sister, Donna Wilson of Janesville; and sister-in-law, Dorothy (Rodney) Williams of Baraboo. In addition to her husband who died in 2003, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, June Norton; and brothers-in-law, John Norton and Leonard Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at BETHLEHEM UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Black Hawk, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 with Pastor Kendall Schlittler officiating. Interment will be in the Black Hawk Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
