Margaret E. Nelson, age 90, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at HospiceCare Inc, in Fitchburg. She was born at Cass Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Anthony and Charlotte (Perrault) Tabaka. Margaret graduated from Nashwauk High School, Minnesota in 1937. She attended Hibbing JR. College and later was employed by St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. Margaret was united in marriage to Russell H. Nelson on November 21. 1940 at St. Cecilas Catholic Church in Nashwauk, MN. Margaret and her husband lived in Superior, WI from 1965 until moving to Prairie du Sac in 2007. She was a very devoted Mother and wife, enjoyed gardening, flowers, loved to travel and go for rides with her husband Russell. She was active in various church activities in Superior at the Cathedral of Christ the King, and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City. She is survived by her husband, Russell, of Prairie du Sac; three children, David (Kathleen) Nelson of New Bern, NC, Charles (Patti) Nelson of Stuart, FL and Ruth (Dave) Lohr of Prairie du Sac; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Ruth (Steve) Hutvagner of Fairfield, CO; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Tabaka, and a sister, Frances Halchak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday March 27, 2009 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City with Father Dan Dahlberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Friday prior to the Mass.
