IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margie F.
Parrell
March 7, 1934 – May 5, 2025
Margie F. Parrell, age 91, passed away 5/5/2025 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born on 3/27/34 in the Vermont township; outside of Black Earth, WI the daughter of Ferdinand and Alice (Cooper) Dietrich. She attended Booth Country Schoolhouse and graduated Black Earth High School.
United in marriage to Richard L. Parrell for 68 years, spending their lives intertwined together living on their small farmstead in the country outside of Black Earth, WI.
Her career was spent for many years at St. Mary's Hospital listening to tapes and transcribing them into doctors' notes. She then moved into a position as a receptionist at the Cross Plains clinic and later in life moved onto a career at Lands' End in Cross Plains, at their call center.
Margie spent much of her time birdwatching and feeding her homemade nectar to Hummingbirds. She had a knack for nurturing almost any animal back from sickness and taking it under her wing. She also enjoyed gardening with Dick and spending time outside working on various projects together. One of their favorite outings was going to the local farmer's market.
The last few years she enjoyed making friends with the wonderful workers and residents of Maplewood facility whom we cannot thank enough for taking such good care of Margie.
She is survived by her son, John Steel (Susan) sister, Pat (Eveland), her granddaughter, Danielle Steel, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death are her husband, Richard, her parents, Ferdinand and Alice (Cooper) Dietrich; sister, Elizabeth (Stoltz); brother Zeno Dietrich and many various cats she loved dearly (but Chloe was her favorite)
Private services will be held for immediate family, and she will be buried with her husband in the St. Barnabas cemetery.
