Marie "Peg" (Forsythe) Engle passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 95, at Meadowview Memory Care in Baraboo, WI. on Aug. 4, 2018. Peg was born in Eau Claire, WI. to John and Emma (Welch) Forsythe.

Peg married James A. Engle on Jan. 21, 1945 in Freeport, Ill where they lived until 1973 when they moved to Lake Wisconsin. Peg enjoyed lake living and in her later years they moved to Sauk City.

She will be remembered for her excellent cooking and baking, especially her long johns, chocolate fudge cake and her family recipe for chicken and dumplings. Peg also created beautiful crocheted afghans. She will be remembered for her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Peg's children, Brian (Margaret) Engle of Conover, Peggy (Roger) Heidenreich of Merrimac, and Christy (Steven) Reuber of Freeport, Ill are thankful they were able to share their lives with their mother.

Peg is survived by her 3 children and 5 grandchildren, Lee Heidenreich (Kari Thiel), Jeff Heidenreich (Jennifer Spangenberg) both of Roseville, MN., Brad Reuber (Erica) of Baraboo, WI., Todd Reuber (Nichole) of Princeville, Ill, and Amy (Chris) Orren of Belleville, WI. and her 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James in 2015 and a brother John.

Peg's family would like to thank all the people who cared for/about her including her family, friends, Meadowview caregivers and Agrace Hospice Staff and volunteers. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Sauk City Library, Alzheimer's Association, or charity of choice.
