Marjorie J. Danz, age 82, died March 12, 2011 at HospiceCare Inc., Fitchburg, surrounded by her family. She was born in Madison on June 30, 1928 the daughter of the late Ervin and Elsie (Koenig) Wood. She attended Mazomanie schools, graduating in the class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Orland Danz on October 5, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1997. The couple farmed in Berry Township until retiring to Sauk City in 1993.


She is survived by 9 children, Joan Sanftleben of Cross Plains, Steve (Vickie) of Mazomanie, Warren of Prairie du Sac, Mark (Marilyn) of Cross Plains, Susan (Michael) Coyle of Cross Plains, Jeffrey of Prairie du Sac, Julie Mickelson of Black Earth, Orlin of Prairie du Sac, and Mary (Aaron) Hicks of Spring Green; a sister, Marlene Meiller of Libertyville , IL; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters-in-law, Irene, Helen, Vivian and Annetta Danz, and Arlene Disrud; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law, Cletus Sanftleben and Maynard Mickelson; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Bridget, Christopher, Megan, and Mason; 2 brothers, Robert and William; and 2 sisters, Eva Wolf and Juanita Cuccia.


A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City. Private family services will be held at a later date.
