Obituary

Mark Ballweg, age 65, passed away at his home on June 15, 2021. He was born in Madison on July 11, 1955, the son of the late Edward and Lenora Ballweg.
Mark and his loving wife of more than 38 years raised two children, Ashley and Tom. Mark loved his family dearly.  His greatest joy was being a dad and watching his kids grow up.
He was a hardworking jack of all trades.  He touched so many lives in the Sauk Prairie community and beyond through his gift of carpentry and roofing.  He was known for his unique phrases and colorful language.
Mark loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed fishing, cutting wood, and gardening.  He appreciated the simple things in life such as talking with the neighborhood kids on the front porch and picking hickory nuts. He is infamously known for his Christmas cookies.
Survivors include his wife, Lana Satterlee-Ballweg, children, Ashley and Thomas Ballweg, son-in-law, Jacob Rouse, brothers and sisters, Mary Ann (Bill) Cummings, Janice (Richard) Dermott, Lloyd (JoAnn) Ballweg, Stanley Ballweg, sister-in-law, Barb Brickl, James (Kristi) Ballweg, Virginia (Neil) Hellenbrand, Barbara Ballweg, Sandra Ballweg, Linda Ballweg, Louise (Brian) Ballweg, and Ed (Trish) Ballweg Jr., parents-in-law, Ilona and Robert Satterlee, brothers-in-law, Bill (Joan) Satterlee and Tony (Tanya) Satterlee, sister-in-law, Toni Satterlee, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, David and Dennis Ballweg, and brother-in-law, Thomas Satterlee.

A celebration of life dinner and service will be held at the Dorf Haus on Wednesday, June 23 at 5:00 p.m.  The family will receive guests from 3:00-4:30 p.m.
Mark's family would like to thank all of the family and friends for providing so much love and support. They would also like to thank the following SSM Health staff for their compassionate care: Dr. Ryan Porter, the Oncology Nurses, Palliative Team, Home Health Team, Home Hospice, and the St. Mary's 7SW nursing team, as well as the Sauk Prairie Emergency staff and Outpatient Therapy Team.
