Obituary

Marlene Sybilla Endres, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 5, 2021 at The Pines Assisted Living, Prairie du Sac. She was born on January 23, 1934 to the late Lawrence and Rose (Wipperfurth) Paar. Marlene was united in marriage to Harry Endres in Martinsville on August 24, 1954.  Harry preceded her in death on May 9, 2017.  Marlene and Harry farmed and raised their kids on a beautiful piece of land in Roxbury. Marlene was a hard-working woman, taking great care of her family and home along with working on the farm. She was an excellent baker and always had several homemade desserts ready for whoever stopped by.  The family especially enjoyed her chocolate chip (square) cookies and her apple pie. It was a long-standing tradition for the family to spend Sundays at the farm, usually starting with Tombstone pizza for lunch.  Marlene always had a freezer full of Tombstone pizzas to feed whoever stopped by. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, especially tulips. She was dedicated to her family and her greatest pleasure in life was taking care of the kids.  Nothing made her happier than having little ones around the house. She raised her own six kids, then when her grandkids and great-grandkids came along, she took care of many of them out on the farm.  Those days on the farm with grandma provided so many great memories for the kids.  She was a wonderful mom and a loving, fun, indulgent grandma and great-grandma. She was the heart and soul of the family and will be deeply missed.

Marlene is survived by her five children, Darrell (Diane) Endres of Prairie du Sac, Sheri (Chris) Allen of Lodi, Colleen (Rich Marks) Storck of Sauk City, Julie (Jim) Wipperfurth of Roxbury, and Brad (Lynn) Endres of Waunakee; grandchildren, Ross (Courtney) Endres, Stephanie (Dennis) Rehr, Brian (Nicole) Schlough, Derek (Miranda Sve) Allen, Travis (Ellie) Allen, Jeremy (Amanda Reichhoff) Hellenbrand, Brandon (Sarah) Hellenbrand, Jimmy and Katie Storck, Jordan (Sara Mrkvicka) Wipperfurth, Joel (Aisha Liebenow) Wipperfurth, Casey (Chelsea) Endres, Brian (fiancée Emma Stodola) Endres; twelve great-grandchildren (another due in August); sister Della (Bill) Dohmeyer, brother Ron (Barb) Paar, and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeff; great-granddaughter, Mia Allen; son in-law, Bob Storck; former son in-law, Darell Hellenbrand; former daughter in-law, Sharon Endres; sisters Lorraine Wankerl and Gerry Ballweg, and brother Virgil Paar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wed. May 12, 2021 at St. Norbert's Catholic Church, Roxbury.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Marlene's family would like to thank the staff at The Pines Assisted Living for their wonderful, compassionate care of her, especially during the many long months we were not able to be with her in person.  We would also like to thank the staff from Agrace HospiceCare who helped make her journey peaceful and comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Agrace HospiceCare, or to the charity of your choice in memory of Marlene.
