Martin Clyde Scott, age 76, passed away at his home on July 13, 2021. He was born in Chicago, Ill to the late Rev. Bervie and Mildred (Rauworth) Scott. Martin attended St. Croix Falls and Cuba City High Schools; graduating in 1964. He went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Accounting from MATC before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1966. Martin was stationed in Amarillo, TX and Turkey, as part of the cold war effort, before his discharge in 1970. He returned to MATC and studied Computer Operations. Martin worked for the State of Wis. Department of Agriculture for 28 years. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Ott on Jan. 20, 1968 at the First United Church of Christ, Sauk City. Martin enjoyed the outdoors, cutting wood, gardening, hunting, boating, and fishing, especially on Lake Michigan. He was proud of his Scottish Heritage and enjoyed traveling Scotland to visit with Clan Scott members. Martin and Phyllis were appointed Commissioner's for the states of WI and MN to represent Clan Scott at the Scottish Highland Games. He was a proud member of the Scottish American Military Society (SAMS), American Legion, Civil Air Patrol, Freemasons, Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), National Rifle Association (NRA), and Disabled Veterans of America (DVA). He was instrumental in the planning of the Sauk Prairie Area Veterans Memorial.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Valerie (Nathan) Martin and their daughter, Nathalie; his brother, John M. Scott; and brother in-law, James Ott. He is further survived by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Arian.
A private family service will be held. Interment with Military Honors accorded by the Lachmund-Cramer VFW Post 7694 will follow in the Sauk City Cemetery.
