Obituary

Mary A. Endres, age 94 of Roxbury/Prairie du Sac, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 surrounded by her family at Pine Villa after a brief illness. She was born in the Town of Perry on June 2, 1922 to Frank and Julia (Haag) Koenig. On October 22, 1953, she was united in marriage to Orville L. Endres at St. James Catholic Church in Madison. They were life-long farmers in Roxbury until retiring in 1982 to the home they built on the farm. She was an excellent cook and loved gardening, sewing, and family.

Mary was a faithful member of St. Norbert Catholic Church in Roxbury, and the Council of Catholic Women. Prior to marriage she worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.

Mary is survived by eight children, Ralph (Mary), Elaine (Mark) Shimniok, Gerald (Diane), Leon, Diane (Greg) Wipperfurth, JoAnn, Arlene (Gary) Michel, and Lester (Diane). She is further survived by 18 grandchildren, Jennifer (Randy) Way, Lisa Endres, and Mary Jo Endres, James (Kelly) Campbell and Lindsey (Justin) Udelhofen, Amanda (Brett) Bartelson, Renee (Darin) Peetz, and Lauren (Cole Olson) Endres, Tony (Annie) Wipperfurth, Audrey (Mike) Gray, Ted (Jenna Alt) Wipperfurth, and Darin (Courtney Churchill) Wipperfurth, Christa (Paul Tremewan) Michel, Kevin Michel, Craig Michel, and Cory Michel, Claire Endres and Shelbi Endres and nine (soon to be ten) great-grandchildren, Amelia and Charles Way, Austin, Dylan, and Destiny Udelhofen, Logan Wipperfurth, Penny and Leo Gray, and Kendall Campbell.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters in-law, Vincent (Selma, deceased) Koch, Harry (Marlene) Endres, Annella (Wilfred, deceased) Gilles, Walter Endres, Mabel (Bob) Gilles, Della (Mike, deceased) Ryan, Delvin (Judy) Endres, Wayne (Marcia) Endres, Dan (Rita) Endres, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orville, her daughter Dolores, two grandchildren, Michael Endres and Faith Endres, her eight siblings, Adelia (Joe) Huber, Joe (Mayme) Koenig, Lorena (Jake) Brokish, Henry (Mary) Koenig, Marcella Koenig, Edwin (Ruby) Koenig, infant twins Florence and Lawrence Koenig, and in-law Rachel (John) Andrewjeski.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water Street, Sauk City, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Norbert Catholic Church in Roxbury, with Father Jerry Zhanay officiating. Burial will be in St. Norbert Cemetery in Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sauk-Prairie Taxi Service or 6:8 - Making Service Personal. The family would like to give special thanks to the dedicated staff at the Pines Assisted Living and Pine Villa in Prairie du Sac for the wonderful care they gave Mom for the past nine years.
