Mary E. Jackson, age 86, passed away at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021.  She was born in Cazenovia on Sept. 15, 1934 to the late Joseph and Lucille (Helt) Pyfferoen.  She was united in marriage to Donald C. Jackson on Nov. 14, 1954; he preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2001.  Mary was a homemaker who specialized in baking dinner rolls, cookies and pies.  She enjoyed bingo, cuss marbles, crossword puzzles, playing cards and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Richard) Brager of Sauk City, Brian (Jan Landowski) Jackson of Sauk City; daughter in-law, Doreen Jackson of Dane; sister in-law, Norma Pyfferroen of Rockbridge; granddaughters, Stacy (Jim) Witecha, Jodie Brager, Ashley (Kyle) Bestul; great grandchildren, Camden, Sophie, Declan and Aviana.  She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son Kurt "Reggie" Jackson.  Brothers, Joseph and Glen, and a sister Katherine.

Mary's family would like to thank the Pines Assisted Living for their exceptional care during Mary's five year stay and Maplewood Sauk Prairie for their recent care of Mary.

Mary's stubbornness and quirky sense of humor will be greatly missed and forever etched in our memories.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City.  A private interment will be held in the Sauk City Cemetery.
