Obituary

Mary Margaret Elizabeth Smith, 91, of Sauk City, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2018 at Maplewood Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mary was born in Plain, Wisconsin on January 18, 1927. She married George Smith on June 25, 1959.

Mary treasured the time spent with her husband and considered him her soul mate. She worked as a CNA at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, St. Clare's in Baraboo, and at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. She especially enjoyed working in the nursery with the babies and their mothers. Mary also enjoyed music, was in an accordion band and enjoyed dancing and playing the piano. Mary was a devout Catholic and loved her Almighty God.   Near the end of her life, she prayed daily she would meet her God in Heaven and rest in peace with her loving husband, parents, and family.

On May 13, 2018, God answered Mary's prayer. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" (Revelations 21:4).

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Wisconsin.

I Made It Home

I just wanted to let you know that

I made it home. The journey wasn't an easy one, but it didn't take too

Long.

Everything is so pretty here, so

White, so fresh and new. I wish that

You all could close your eyes and that you

Could see it too.

Please try not to be sad for me.

Try to understand God is taking care of me…I'm in the shelter of His

Hands.

Here there is no sadness, no sorrow,

And no pain. Here there is no crying

And I'll never hurt again.

Here it is so peaceful when all the

Angels sing. I really have to go for

Now…I've just got to try my wings.
