Mary B Taylor

Mary B. Christenson Taylor, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, passed away on March 31, 2026.

Mary was born on September 9, 1953, in Yakima, Washington. She graduated from Highland High School in Cowiche, Washington, in 1972. Just two weeks after graduation, she married Kim Ruyle and together they built a life over 27 years and were blessed with ten children.

Later in life, Mary married Robert Taylor, and they made their home in Sauk City and then Baraboo for the past sixteen years where Mary baked, painted, made soap, and cared for their beloved dogs.  Mary was a beautiful person in every sense – kind, entertaining, and full of life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, an exceptional cook, and a gifted homemaker who created a warm and welcoming home. Her love for her family was boundless, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she nurtured and the memories she created.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ethlyn Christenson; a sister, Rebecca Ruff; and a grandson, Julian Ruyle.

Mary is survived by her husband, Robert Taylor; sisters Sandra Fisk and Julie Brown; a brother, Daniel Christenson; and her ten children: Benjamin, Emily, Nathanael, Christopher, Daniel, Rebecca, Jonathan, Thaddeus, Margaret, and Madeline, along with 20 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.

Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A visitation for Mary will be held at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm.
