Mary Amelia Wells, age 92, formerly of Los Angeles and Coulterville, CA, died peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Harbor House/Walnut Grove Assisted Living Center in Baraboo, WI. She is now with her beloved husband, Trent, who proceded her in death on August 4, 2008. Mary was born on May 20, 1916, in Los Angeles, the daughter of Robert G. Robinson and Marie H. (Tomlin) Robinson. On February 22, 1942, she married Trent H. Wells, Jr. at Mather Army Air Base in Sacramento County. Mary and Trent settled in South Gate, CA, where they raised two children, Robert T. Wells, and Patricia A. (Wells) Storm. She worked side by side with Trent in the development of their medical equipment business. Their company is credited with designing and manufacturing a neurosurgical device that became the most widely used instrument of its kind in the world. Together Mary and Trent traveled the world. They also supported many worthy causes through philanthropic contributions, including charitable gifts to universities and secondary schools, among others. Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was proud of her Irish heritage and always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and knitting heirlooms for her family. Mary had a tremendous spirit and touched the lives of everyone around her. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her. Mary is survived by two children, Robert T. Wells and Patricia (F. Kristian) Storm of Merrimac, WI; three grandchildren, Sandra Storm of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Lori (Kevin) Noth of Bloomington, MN and Darlene (Leif) Lillehaugen of Los Angeles, CA; and one great-grandson, Cameron Noth. The family wishes to express thanks to Dr. Timothy Deering and the staff at Harbor House for the loving care of both Mary and Trent. Mary will be interred in Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, CA. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the charity of your choice in Mary's name.
