Melissa Dianne Matz of Hot Spring Village, Arkansas sadly passed away unexpectedly at the age of 57 on June 14, 2022 while vacationing in northern Wisconsin with her family.

Melissa grew up in Wisconsin and moved to Colorado where she spent the majority of her life before moving to Arkansas.  Melissa had a deep love and passion for being in the outdoors.  From a very young age she loved flowers, gardens, trees and studying botany.  She had a great love for all animals and enjoyed spending time and taking long walks with her beloved dogs.  Melissa always looked forward to spending time with her family and friends.

Melissa is survived by her son Thomas J. Rightmire of Brighton, Colorado; her mother Dorothea Craft of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; sisters Carolyn (Dave) Mann, Hot Springs, Arkansas and Deborah Brown of Homer, Alaska; nieces and nephew Alyssa Matz and her 3 children of Denver, Colorado, Annalynn and Ashton Brown of Homer, Alaska; as well as other distant relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Harvey Matz, and brothers Dwight and Thomas Matz.

A Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm noon until 1:30 pm with a Funeral Service to follow on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City, WI 53583.  Burial will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Dane Township, Collins Ridge Rd.
