Merton E. Zick, age 94, died peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. He was born in Honey Creek Township on October 29, 1915, the son of the late Edward M. and Ella (Allert) Zick. He was united in marriage to Anna E. Diske on August 16, 1936. He farmed in the town of Prairie du Sac with his wife for many years. He was a member of the Honey Creek Rod and Gun Club and the First United Church of Christ in Sauk City.




He is survived by his wife, Anna of Prairie du Sac; a son, Darwin (Mary) of Prairie du Sac; son-in-law, Valerius Schultz of Herman, MO; 2 daughters-in-law, Carol of Colgate and Diana of Baraboo; a sister, Norma Neumaier of Sauk City; 3 sisters-in-law; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Gene and Duane; and a daughter, Harolyn.





A funeral service will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, at 11:30 a.m. on Wed., July 21, 2010 with Pastor Dennis Weis officiating. Burial will be in Zion Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
