Michael J. Alt

Michael J. Alt, 68, of Fond du Lac, passed away on October 30, 2026.

He was born in Sauk City, Wisconsin to Louis and Janet Alt. Until the time of his retirement, Mike was employed by the Fond du Lac County Highway Department as a dispatcher/night watchman. Other employment consisted of Badger Swim Pools in Prairie du Sac and Fives (G&L) in Fond du Lac.

Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years; Kris, of Fond du Lac; one daughter, Katie Martin, of Bagley, WI, her husband, Shawn, and Mike’s most favorite granddaughter, Adaline Grace. He is also survived by his mother, Janet Alt, three brothers and one sister, several in-laws, many nieces, nephews and many life-long friends. Mike is proceeded in death by his father, Louis Alt, along with several cousins, friends, aunts and uncles.

Mike was an avid and skilled hunter and fisherman. He lived for the outdoors and hunting season. During hunting season, if you wanted to find Mike, all you would have to do is go out to his favorite hunting spot and try to sneak up on him in a hunting blind. Mike enjoyed reminiscing about all his hunting and fishing adventures, but the length of the horns nor the size of the fish ever changed. He also enjoyed golfing and attending various scrambles.

A celebration of his life will be held at their home at a later date.
