IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael "Doc"
F. Peeples
April 30, 1944 – September 22, 2024
Michael "Doc" F. Peeples, age 80, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at the Pines Memory Care in Prairie du Sac. He was born in Boston, MA, on Apr. 30, 1944, to the late Robert and Kathleen (Bosold) Peeples. He graduated from West Allis High School and attended the University of Madison Wisconsin, and Marquette University, where he earned his Doctorate in Dentistry in 1969. He was united in marriage to Linda Kemmer on June 6, 1970.
After college Michael enlisted the United States Navy and proudly served during the Vietnam Era, where he was stationed in the Philippines with Linda eventually joining him. Michael served with distinction and achieved the rank of Lieutenant while on active duty. He also made several life-long friends during his service.
Michael and Linda traveled from the Philippines through Southeast Asia to eventually land and start a family in the Sauk-Prairie area. Michael joined as a partner in a local dental office and stayed with Village Family Dental until his retirement in 2011.
Michael was deeply involved in the Sauk-Prairie community and St. Aloysius church. He was an avid fisherman, weekend camper, and gardener. Michael was also a sports fan, supporting the Sauk-Prairie wrestling team, the UW Madison wrestling team, and a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. When he wasn't spending time with Linda or his boys (and their families), Michael was philanthropic with his efforts, supporting Doctors Without Borders and under-serviced communities locally and worldwide.
Michael is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Cale (Amy) and their children, Kemmer, Archer, and Liam; Colin (Brettany Shannon) and their children, Auden and Oonagh; Mikael (Franzconshelle); and his brothers and Sisters, William "Bill," Judy, and Maryanne. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Kathleen, his youngest brother, Robert "Bob" Peeples, his inlaws Gerald Kemmer, and Marge Kemmer (Lustig).
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mike will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City, and the morning of mass from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the St. Aloysius Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Mike's name to St. Aloysius Catholic Church or Doctors without Borders.
Michael's family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the healthcare professionals and staff at the Pines Memory Care facility for their love and concern for Michael in his final years — and their continuing care for Linda. Additional thanks go to their friends and family for prayers and assistance.
