Michael "Mikey" Lee Nelson, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 26, 2017. He was born to Dale and Sandy (Lawton) Nelson. Mikey graduated from Sauk Prairie High School; class of 2001. He enjoyed fishing and camping, fast cars and NASCAR racing. Mikey was a skilled construction worker and currently was employed with A1 Roofing in Wisconsin Rapids.

He is survived by his 2 children whom he adored and was very proud of, Dylan and Jillian Nelson, and their mother, Jessica Janney; his parents, Dale and Sandy Nelson of Lone Rock; his siblings, Lucan (Jessica) Nelson and their children, Hailey and Phillip; Patrick (Heather) Nelson and their daughter, Iris; Justin (Brandy) Nelson; maternal grandparents, Cliff (Jan) Lawton and Sharon Lawton. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Duane and Shirley Soelle; aunt, Michelle Frey; and uncle, Russell Lawton.

A celebration of Mikey's life will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Jan. 6, 2018 at the Prairie du Sac Townhall, S. 9903 Hwy 12, Prairie du Sac.

Mikey's family would like to express their appreciation to his friends who have stood beside him over the years.
