IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael "Simpy"
T. Simpson
March 21, 1963 – July 26, 2022
Michael T. "Simpy" Simpson, age 59 of Mazomanie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg with his wife and daughter at his side after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 21, 1963, to DeVerne and Georgia (Ewers) Simpson of Mazomanie. Michael was united in marriage to Jane (Esser) Simpson on June 30, 1990, in Arena and they were married for 32 years. Michael worked in landscaping after school. From there he moved on to construction, running heavy equipment.
He was a very proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 139. He kept working through treatment until he finally decided to retire on June 1, 2022. Michael had a TON of friends who he all had nicknames for. He would go out of his way to help his family and friends. He was the best guy anyone could know. He loved his dogs, especially Sophie. He was always out working in the garage and one of his favorite things to do was get in his truck and go for a ride.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Makayla; nieces, Charity (Brad) Kirch and Ashley (Jake) Meudt; great nieces Destiny and "Big Girl" Gracie; great nephew Darien; aunt, Val Simpson; and many many very special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, DeVerne and Georgia (Ewers) Simpson; brother, Monte; sister, Lorna; maternal grandparents, Lester and Violet (Leatherberry) Ewers; paternal grandparents, Sherman and Esther (Schoville) Simpson; uncle, Max Simpson; and uncle and aunt Jerry and Jean (Parker) Ewers.
A celebration of life will be held on August 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lion's Park in Mazomanie.
Michael, we all love you very much. Your big heart, sense of humor, and presence will be deeply missed, but we know you are no longer in pain.
You are finally free, fly high.
