Obituary

Monroe Albert Nolden, age 90, died on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. He was born in Prairie du Sac Township on August 12, 1918, the son of the late Conrad and Philomena (Blum) Nolden. He was united in marriage to Mildred Leister on June 3, 1941. Monroe loved to play cards and go fishing, but his first love was farming, which he did for all of his life. He was a lifetime member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; five children, Maurice (Jackie), Richard (Laura), Greg (Alice), Tom (Rita) and Sue (Bill) Matth; daughter-in-law, Mary Nolden; sister, Leonita "Toody" (Roger) Behling; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald L.; sister, Lillian Breunig; brother, Marvin; granddaughter, Carrie; and daughter-in-law, Karen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2008.
