Nita Jane Palmer, age 77, passed away in the comfort of her own home on May 11, 2019.  She was born in her grandmother's home in Stoughton on Aug. 10, 1941 to the late Jay and Viola (Felio) McDaniel.  Nita attended Prairie du Sac High School graduating in 1959.  She was united in marriage to George Palmer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Ia. on Aug. 15, 1959.  She and George farmed in the Caledonia Township while raising 4 children.  She enjoyed knitting, and looked forward to family time up north camping and riding atv with her family.

She is survived by her husband, George; 4 children, Randy (Maureen) Palmer, Tim Palmer, Yolanda "Skeeter" (Scott Kasemodel) Palmer, Jay "Spanky" (Kristen Hansen) Palmer; 10 grandchildren, Andy, Ben (April Deane), Greg "Scooter" (Brooke) Palmer, Tyler, Ryan, Casey (Jessica), Brandon,  Jason (Ivy) Kasemodel, Carlie and Chloe Palmer and one more on the way; 13 great grandchildren, and Nita's siblings, Eldon McDaniel, Charles "Butch" (Jan) McDaniel, Mike (Lois) McDaniel.  She is further survived by other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline McDaniel and Adella Mueller.

A celebration of Nita's life will be held from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm on June 8, 2019 at the Merrimac Conservation Club, Highway 78, Merrimac.
