Norbert R. Smith, passed away on April 30, 2016 at St. Clare Hospice House, Baraboo, surrounded by his family. Whether you knew him as Norbert, Norby , Norb, Pop, Pa, Big Honcho, Dad, Daddy Doggy, or Gramps, you were always greeted with the one finger wave and "Hi how are you today?" Norbert was best described as jovial, sentimental and steadfast. He was employed by Decar Plastic Corp for 45 years and Schwans Food for 7 years. Norb enjoyed his children, pets, music and family get-togethers, the family deer hunt and opening weekend Northern fishing. He was a man with a big heart and was a great family provider and will be dearly missed.



Norbert is survived by his wife, Bernice; his children, Chris (Ivan) Steckelberg, Steve Reiners, Linda Lyons, Jackie (Duane) Lange; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.



A remembrance gathering will be held at 1:30 pm on Sun. May 22, 2016 at Ochsner Park in Baraboo.
