Obituary

Norma Sophia Neumaier, age 86, passed away peacefully at Maplewood Nursing Home surrounded by her family on Sun. Jan. 29, 2017. She was born in rural Sauk Co. on July 11, 1930 to the late Edward and Ella (Allert) Zick. Norma was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" J. Neumaier on Sept. 29, 1948; he preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1986. She enjoyed cooking; and was the former owner and operator of the Blue Willow, Wendt's Café, and the Copper Kettle. Norma later worked at the Blue Spoon Café and Culvers of which she enjoyed well into her 80's. She also enjoyed fishing and her trips to the casino.

Norma is survived by her 11 children; Larry Neumaier, Jim (Fay) Neumaier, Kathy (Gerry) Breunig, William (Sandi) Neumaier, Thomas Neumaier, Patty (Dennis) Seeley, Laura (Gary) Richmond, Karen (Doug) Shinker, Nancy (Dale) Rathermel, Connie (Doug) Rauls, Donna (Terry) Jonas; a special friend, Scherrie (Gerald) Roth; many grandchildren and step grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by several grandchildren, a great-grandson, and her siblings, and Larry's friend Kevin.

A private family service will be held. Norma's family would like to thank the staff at Maplewood for their loving care of Norma. A memorial will be established in her name.

Our hearts still ache with sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it meant to lose you, no one can ever know. We love you Ma.
