Nyla Jean Heintz, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born in Baraboo on Feb. 28, 1945 to the late Erwin and Gladys (Holverson) Heintz. Nyla Jean graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School in 1964. After high school she lived in Madison and worked at the Edgewater Hotel for a short time before returning to Mazomanie and living at the home farm. She worked for Graber's-Springs Window Accessories for over 30 years; retiring in 2006. Nyla Jean loved animals, cats and dogs and collecting bears. She always looked forward to road trips and traveling with her friend Vicky.
Nyla Jean is survived by her brother, John Heintz; niece, JoAnn (Chris) Geiger and their children, Chase and Griffin; close friend, Glenn; and aunt, Laurie. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime friend, Vicky Julson; a sister in-law, Daisy Heintz and friend, Bonnie Trainor.
Nyla Jean's family would like to sincerely thank her caregivers, Collene and Galyna who helped her stay independent and remain at home as long as she did.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 6th, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City where memories will be shared at 6pm. A private Interment will be held in the Mazomanie Cemetery on Sat. Oct. 7th.
