Obituary

Olive M. Adler, age 92, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. She was born in Dane on January 22, 1918, the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Barbian) Werla. Olive was united in marriage to John L. Adler on April 25, 1939 at St. Michaels in Dane. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1985. Together they farmed and operated a Milk Hauling business for many years. Olive enjoyed crocheting, quilting, fishing, and traveling with family to places like England, Australia, Switzerland and Alaska, and especially enjoyed fishing at Ten Mile Lake in Canada.

She is survived by 5 children, Ron (Connie) Adler of Mazomanie, Beverly (Donald) Ripp of Black Earth, Joyce (Phil) Prosa-Cowling of Lodi, Pat (Jerry) Rous of Junction City, and Larry (Tammy) Adler of Mazomanie; 9 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; a sister, Helen Niesen; two brothers, Urban (Margaret) Werla and Herbert (Donna) Werla; a sister-in-law, Janet Roessler; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline; two grandchildren, bennett and David Adler; a son-in-law, Bernard Prosa; two sisters, Catherine Werla and Sister Antoninus Werla; a brother, Thomas (Rita) Werla; brothers-in-law, Raymond Niesen, Tony Adler, Tony (Frances) Meier, Glenn (Henrietta) Phippen, Dick (Eleanor) Dorn, and Tony Roessler; and a sister in-law, Sybilla Land.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BARNABAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Mazomanie at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010 with Fr. John DelPriore officiating. Burial will be in St. Barnabas Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Highway 14 West, Mazomanie from 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010.

Olive's family would like to thank the caregivers from Home Health International; Dane County Long Term Care, that allowed her to live in her own home for the past 8 years; Maplewood Nursing Home; and a very special thank you to Dr. Janelle Hupp for her very personal care of Olive.
