Orville L. Endres, age 89, of Roxbury/Prairie du Sac, died on Tuesday March 22, 2011, surrounded by his family at the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Roxbury on Dec. 31, 1921, to Leonard and Lydia (Breunig) Endres. on Oct. 22, 1953, he was united marriage to Mary A. Koenig. He and Mary were life-long farmers in Roxbury until retiring in 1982. He continued to help his son, Gerald farm for many years thereafter.
Orville was a life-long member of St. Norbert Catholic Church, Roxbury, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 3099 and the Catholic Knights.
Orville is survived by his wife, Mary; and eight children, Ralph (Mary), Elaine (Mark) Shimniok , Gerald (Diane), Leon, Diane (Greg) Wipperfurth, JoAnn, Arlene (Gary) Michel, and Lester (Diane). He is further survived by his 18 grandchildren, Jennifer (Randy Way), Lisa and Mary Jo Endres, James (Kelly Swalheim) Campbell, Lindsey (Justin) Udelhofen, Amanda (Brett Bartelson), Renee (Darin Peetz) and Lauren (Jason McKinney) Endres, Tony (Annie Evert), Audrey (Mike Gray), Ted and Darin (Courtney Churchill) Wipperfurth, Christa, Kevin, Craig and Cory Michel, Claire and Shelbi Endres and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Dylan Udelhofen. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Rachel (John deceased) Andrewjeski, Harry (Marlene), Annella (Wilfred, deceased) Gilles, Walter, Mabel (Bob) Gilles, Della (Mike deceased) Ryan, Delvin (Judy), Wayne (Marcia), Dan (Rita), brother-in-law, Vincent Koch; plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Celine; sister, Selma Koch, daughter, Dolores; and two grandchildren; Michael Endres and Faith Endres.
A Rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. with visitation at the HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, on Thursday, March 24, 2011, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011, at 11 a.m. at ST. NORBERT CATHOLIC CHURCH, Roxbury. Burial will be at St. Norbert Cemetery in Roxbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Norbert Church.
The family would like thank the staff at the Meadows Assisted Living, Spring Green, and the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital with special thanks to the Pines Assisted Living, Prairie du Sac, for the wonderful care they have provided Dad over the past three years.
Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, the cows are milked, the chores are done the last bundle is loaded. Job well done!
