Obituary

Ottilie "Tillie" Beinvogl, age 100, died Saturday, April 19,2008 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born on August 4, 1907 in Rauxel, Germany the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Stangel) Sedlak. Tillie came to this country from Walsum A/M Rhine on May 15, 1927, to the family of Ludwig and Caroline Racek, who were her sponsors. She arrived ,after a 2 year correspondence , with Anton "Tony" Jerabek and they were married on August 13, 1927 in Milwaukee. Tony died on March 17, 1956. They had farmed on the edge of Roxbury Township for 27 years and later moved to Sauk City. Tillie then began her second career of cooking, at Lake Wisconsin Country Club and later at the hot lunch program for St. Aloysius and Spruce Street Schools. On September 21,1963 she married John Beinvogl. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1990. John was the owner-operator of the Sauk City Hotel and Riverview Ballroom. Tillie embarked on her third career as general manager of the hotel and catered for wedding receptions and banquets at the ballroom. She retired in 1979. In her retirement she enjoyed making many afghans for family and friends. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the council of Catholic Women. She is survived by a daughter, Blanche Ryan Gibbons of Haines City, FL and Sauk City; 6 grandchildren, Richard Ryan, Terry (Dannie) Ryan, Tim (Linda) Ryan, Faith Ryan, Anthony Jerabek and Amy (Ronald) Carlson; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; daughters-in-law, Pat Jerabek and Sharon Jerabek; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by 2 sons James and Donald, 5 sisters 4 brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday April 26, 2008 at St Aloysius Catholic Church ,Sauk City with Father Faustino Ruiz officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. The Council of Catholic Women will lead the rosary at the funeral home at 11:15.
