Obituary

Patricia C. Breunig, age 86, passed away in her home on September 23, 2025. After spending her life selflessly dedicated to her loved ones and strong in her faith, she joined her late husband, Bernard, on what would have been their 67th wedding anniversary.

Born in Ashton, WI to Joseph and Lucy Meinholz, she grew up to become the devoted matriarch of her family. Her life's true calling was caring for others, and she embraced the role of wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend with unwavering love and compassion. For decades, she created a home filled with warmth, kindness, and endless support for everyone who entered. For those closest to her, she was known as "the baby whisperer", with a passion for holding babies and a knack for soothing them in a way no other could.

Patricia passionately cheered for her favorite Wisconsin teams the Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. She also enjoyed the quiet challenge of a good game of Scrabble. The simple pleasures brought her immense joy and created countless cherished memories for her family. Her quiet strength and graceful spirit were a beacon of light to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Frank (Theresa), Alex (Tonya), Nancy (Kirk) Einhorn, Joan (Mike) Mestelle, Edward (Kathy), Katherine (Daniel) Pethan, Sam (Ande), Gerilyn (Eric) Darnell; grandchildren Matthew and Hannah Breunig, Calynne Breunig, Coleman (Heather) Breunig, Cleary (Jordan) Breunig, Nick (Christina) Rasmussen, Dylan (Calvin) Breunig, Victoria (Branden) Trager, Mardell (Adam) Einhorn, Nathan (Shannon) Einhorn, Jacob (Selina), Molly (Connor) and Bethany Mestelle, Alyse (Lucas) Johnson, Riley and Eddie Breunig, Joseph, Benjamin and Thomas Pethan, Penn and Bodie Breunig, Carter and Emma Darnell and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Lucy Kippley, Judy (Del) Endres; brothers Ronnie (Helen) Meinholz, Lloyd Meinholz; and in-laws Bernie Meinholz, Merl Breunig; Donna Ferguson; David (LaLonnie) Breunig, Dennis (Jeanne) Breunig, Jeannette Breunig, and Linda Breunig.
