Obituary

Patricia "Trish" K. Kirner, age 77, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, after a valiant battle with cancer. Despite her diagnosis she remained positive and lived everyday to its fullest. She was born on February 27,1946 to the late Aloysius P. and Margaret A. (Richardson) Miller. Trish was in the first class (1964) to graduate from the new Sauk Prairie High School. Trish was united in marriage to Richard Kirner on May 11,1968 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City.

Trish worked for her family business, Miller Gas & Appliance, in Sauk City, where she learned excellent bookkeeping skills. She was sharp, thorough, self- taught and was known to "tell it like it is". Trish went on to start her own business "KCB Bookkeeping", where she worked until she retired.

From a young age, Trish had a soft heart and loved animals and horses. She would be the first to rescue an animal in need or keep another cat in the cat condo. Trish was a talented seamstress, making and altering many dresses for family, including making her own wedding dress and other wedding attire for family and friends. She would often be found sitting with a crochet hook in hand, working on a Christening gown, baby blanket or afghan, always sharing her gifts with family and friends.  Trish and Rich enjoyed quality time with family. She was the first one to grab a squirt gun, swim in the lake, or teach family members to waterski right off their pier. Trish and Rich were like a third set of Grandparents to their nieces and nephews, often aiding in helping a new parent with a little one.  Trish loved the outdoors, whether building a log cabin, training horses, rescuing feral cats, and boating with family and friends on the Mississippi and Lake Wisconsin. Trish and Rich enjoyed many trips out West, elk hunting and also vacationing with family, often visiting National Parks and historic sites.

Trish is survived by her husband, Rich; siblings, Joe (Kathleen) Miller, Mary Jane(Dusty) Koch, Tom Miller, and Al (Laurie) Miller. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Miller, and sister-in-law, Lamar Miller.

Trish's family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Trish's Oncologist, Dr. James Heun, Madonna Robertson RN, and to the Agrace Hospice staff for their genuinely kind care of Trish. We would also like to thank Trish's very special neighbors, Renee, Ben, Callista, Camille and Sol Carlson who brightened Trish's days with their love and care.

As per Trish's wishes, a Visitation will be held from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water Street, Sauk City with a Celebration of Trish's life to follow at the Dorf Haus, 8931 County Hwy. Y, Roxbury.
