Patricia Alyn Kalscheur, née Hegerfeld was born on March 5, 1942.  She brought joy to her parents then and later to everyone who came to know her.

Patty had a passion for learning throughout her life. She had an innate sense of style and elegance and became an expert seamstress at a very young age. Her love of art, languages, religion and music inspired her to travel and fulfill a wanderlust. Small plane trips with family prompted her to pursue her Private Pilot's Certificate.

In addition to her other accomplishments, Pat valued higher education, and a keen business sense led her to earn her master's degree.  She had an empathetic nature and mentored many people while working tirelessly with Employment and Training for Dane County to put business owners together with appropriate employees.

Yoga, meditation and mindfulness training were an important part of her daily life for many years.  She was an avid student of ballet, Middle Eastern dance and tango.  How she could dance!

She died with Parkinson's Disease which is little understood, hard to treat and underfunded.  As a testament to Patty, we can try to help all those suffering by learning more and giving when we can.

Pat was a beautiful soul and never vain or entitled. She loved her family and friends unfailingly and they will continue to cherish her memory.

Patty's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her caregivers who cared for her with kindness and dignity over her last months.
