Patricia "Pat" F. Postawa

Patricia “Pat” Postawa passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on October 25, 2026 after suffering a stroke. Pat was born on December 9, 1945 to the late Clarence and Loraine (Reuter) Coenen. On May 17, 1969 she married Stan Postawa at St. Aloysius Church in Sauk City.

Pat worked at Central Colony for several years, at Accola and Osterfund for several years and then worked in the emergency department at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital for many years until retirement.

Pat will be remembered for her beautiful flower gardens of which she was very proud. In winters she spent many hours picking out hickory nuts for herself and others. Pat was fond of her Siamese cats and it made her very sad when she went to an assisted living facility and had to say goodbye to her last pets, Zeke and Zebediah.

She was the first female to join the Sauk Prairie Ambulance Crew but it was a struggle as there were some who believed that women wouldn’t be able to handle the task. Pat remained with the Ambulance Association for 25 years, retiring in 1999.

Pat is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Eileen and Bob Adank, Dale and Lorie Coenen, Rhonda and Mike Enge, Gregg and Lyn Coenen and Dean Coenen. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Tom Adank. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stan who died December 18, 2010, her sister and brother-in-law Antoinette and Matt Roth, her brother Neale Coenen, her sister Cheryl Adank and her nephew Tim Adank. Pat is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members and friends.

In accordance with Pat’s wishes no services will be held.
