October 27, 1945 – March 31, 2025
Patricia "Pat" R. Sturm, age 79 of Prairie du Sac passed away peacefully at Maplewood Nursing Home on Monday, March 31, 2025. She was born in Madison on Oct. 27, 1945. She was an avid crafter, making wreaths, baskets, stamping, cards and many treasures she loved to share with her family and friends. Pat loved to sew, quilt, and embroider and was member of a quilting and sewing club who donated her blankets and quilts to the U.W. and American Family Children Hospitals in Madison. Pat also volunteered her sewing skills with M&R Sewing. She was an expert with fabric and a needle and helped demo their machines.
She enjoyed her cowboy and western shows, listening to Conway Twitty and Elvis, and feeding the birds. She looked forward to visits with her family members and enjoying a Southern Comfort Old Fashioned when they had time.
Pat was a former delivery driver for Purolater Courier and Delivery Service in Madison where she made lifelong friends with Sara and Sandy.
She is survived by children, Dureen (Eric), Staci, Jeff (Melissa), and Susan; 12 grandchildren, Travis (Mariah), Tiesha, Dillon (Kaylee), Aaron, Alan, Alyssa, Brittany, Emma, Jordan, Jace, Chandler, and Quinn; 4 great grandchildren; her brother Richard; and her best friend LaVonne. She is further survived by her "bonus" children, Judy, Colleen (Al), Vicki (Scott), Sherry, Tom (Diane), Todd and Tammy and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Lawrence and her longtime soulmate, Jim; her beloved sisters, Deanna and Donna; and a nephew, Danny.
Pat's family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the caregivers and healthcare professionals at Maplewood and Agrace Hospice and to her neighbor and friend, Diane B. for looking out for Pat, thank you.
