IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick "Pat"
S. Gass
August 5, 1979 – July 30, 2025
Patrick "Thor" S. Gass, age 45, passed away unexpectedly at his home in the Roxbury Township on the 30th of July. He was born in Seattle, WA on Aug. 5, 1979, to Donald and Donna (Todhunter) Gass. Pat graduated from Granite Falls, H.S. class of 1997 and enlisted in the United States Marines Reserve Unit. While enlisted in the reserve unit he served for 6 years and his final year was spent in Iraq, he was honorably discharged in 2003 upon his return to home. Pat went on to further his education, earning a B.S. in Computer Science and Gaming Design from the Digi Pen Institute of Technology in WA. It was a small accident while in school that broke both of his arms that made him unable to shave his face, his friends urging and nicknaming him "Thor".
Patrick was united in marriage to Yvonne C. Driver on Apr. 1, 2014 while they lived in Reno, NV. Shortly after they welcomed their son, Noble to their family. While in Nevada, Patrick's love of electronics and gaming earned him a job programming games for gambling slot machines. In early 2020 at the start of the Covid Pandemic, Patrick, Yvonne and Noble made the move to the Middleton, WI area to start work at Raven Software to work on "Call of Duty" and eventually settling in Roxbury. For the past almost two years, Patrick had worked for Insomniac Games and helped design the disability and user features for Spider Man 2 making the game accessible to all.
From a young age when his dad brought home his first Atari, Patrick has always had a fascination with gaming and collecting games. He has collected many different vintage and obscure gaming machines and consoles, alongside the large collection of vinyl records and antique board games including many 1 offs and special editions, a passion he shared with his family.
Patrick is survived by his son, Noble; Noble's mom and Patrick's, former wife, Yvonne; Patrick's mother, Donna; and a brother, Timothy (his wife Rachel) Gass. His brother from another mother and lifelong best friend Justus Jordan Barnett and the Barnett Family. He is further survived by extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald.
A private family service will be held.
