IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Philip Raymond
Schadler
October 14, 2023
Philip Raymond Schadler, 80, of Mazomanie went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 14. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on the 5th generation family farm. Phil was born September 11, 1943, in Madison, Wisconsin to Alfred and Dorothy Schadler.
He was a man of great aspirations and adventure acquiring his pilot license at the age of 18. He married the love of his life, Sherry (Peterson) Schadler at 24 with whom he shared a captivating flair on the dance floor and in life. He loved his wife and 4 children deeply and constantly pointed out the importance of valuing each other. His compassion and empathy was evident particularly throughout his vocation after graduating from MATC mortuary school in 1990. He had a deep love for animals with various unique pets. Several hobbies included flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, driving horse and buggy, ostrich racing, being a member of the Big Wheel Bicycle Society, travel, and reading. He particularly loved reading his Bible and about the things of God. After a debilitating stroke in 2012, he noted listening to his audio Bible over 18 times. It was very important to him that all should hear the gospel message of Jesus Christ.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sherry; 2 sons, Travis Schadler and his girlfriend Jerica Retrum and Trygve Schadler; 2 daughters and their spouses, Chelsey and Adam Hanson, and Courtney and Daniel Hase; 7 grandchildren; sister and her husband, Janice and Jerry Olson; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Alfred and Dorothy Schadler; Father and mother-in-law, Amos and Marie Peterson.
The family expresses immense gratitude to Bob and Rosemary Rees and Dean and Jan Housley for their commitment and dependable care allowing Phil to remain at home and to Agrace Hospice for their compassion with special heartfelt gratitude toward Phil's nurse Britney.
A visitation is to be held Friday, October 20, 4:00pm-7:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 11:00am with graveside service and luncheon to follow. Visitation and memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 309 Water Street, Sauk City, WI.
