Phyllis A. Frey, age 87, left this world Wednesday, October 19, 2016, to be with her husband and two sons. She was born on August 28, 1929, the daughter of Harvey and Ida (Morrill) Taylor. Phyllis was united in marriage to Harold "Nick" Frey on November 17, 1949 at St. Norbert Catholic Church, Roxbury. She attended Sauk City High School. Most of her life Phyllis was a homemaker and was employed by Rexall Drug Store, Dorf Haus and Gast Haus. She loved working for the Maier family, especially behind the bar. She was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and knitting. She was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church, Roxbury.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Al) Hellem, Christine (Bob) Sheehan, Thomas (Lynet), Kevin (Karen), Brian, Monika Lauer, Colleen (Mark) Sprecher, Tim, Jeannie, and Mitch (Michele);
20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; siblings, Robert, Janet Alt, Mabel Roelke. Further survived by nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons, Steven and Keith, sisters Betty Skalitzky , Alice Evert and brothers John and Vernon: sister-in-law, Hedy Taylor, brothers-in- law, Louis Alt, Kenneth Roelke, William Skalitzky.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and c.n.a.'s at Maplewood and Mom's favorite nurse, Olga for the care they gave to Mom and also to Barb, Al, Lynet, Karen, granddaughters, Bridget, Nicole and Kimberly who helped care for Mom while she was at home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 24, 2016 at St. Norbert Catholic Church, Roxbury, with Father John Blewett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City, WI.
