IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phyllis
Perry
December 3, 1924 – September 15, 2022
Phyllis was a woman gifted with humor and spunk who enjoyed practical jokes. She was born at home in Loganville, WI on December 3, 1924 to Herman and Alice (Kruse) Winecke. She married the love of her life, Chalmers "Chuck" Perry (Harrisonville, KY), on July 20, 1945 at the Naval Air Station in Alameda, CA.
Her children, Tom (Mary Jo) Perry, Portage, and Sandy Turk, Fitchburg, brought her great happiness as did her grandchildren Jodie (Greg) Arkin, Fond du Lac, WI and Tracie (Chris)Wellner, Denmark, WI. Her four great-grandchildren were a bonus: Jackson and Travis Wellner and Nathan and Olivia Arkin.
After discharging from the service they relocated to Prairie du Sac and built a life together with their children. Phyllis held jobs with Badger Ordinance, Mueller Chemical and Ace Hardware. Wherever she worked she developed many long-lasting friendships due, in part, to that humor and spunk. Phyllis was on a bowling league for many years and bowled a perfect spare game in 1981. She was Lake Wisconsin's Women's Golf Club champion in 1965 and very much enjoyed Ladies Day at the course followed by a steak cookout. While she lived independently in her home until age 94, she required some assistance towards the end of her life.
Special thanks are extended to The Pines Assisted Living and Memory Care staffs for their excellent care given to her when she most needed it. Thanks, also, to Agrace Hospice Care for their care and comfort during a difficult time. She was preceded in death by her sisters Gloria (George) Wilke, Wilma (Ken) Stewart), Margaret (Cliff) Loiselle, and her brother Robert (Laurel) Winecke, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Friends of Sauk-Prairie Healthcare (Love Light Bulbs program to honor and remember loved ones), 260 26th St., Prairie du Sac, WI 53578 or Badger Prairie Needs Network (Flags4Food program), 1200 E Verona Ave., Verona, WI 53593.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM followed by the service at 11:00 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac, WI. Arrangements are being made by Hooverson Funeral Homes, 251 Water St., Sauk City, WI.
