Obituary

Randall J. Kirch, age 81, passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving wife and daughter on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023 after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.  He was born Oct. 8, 1942 to the late Walter and Imelda (Schneider) Kirch.   He was a graduate of Mazomanie High School in 1960.  Following High School, Randall enlisted in the United States Army and was united in marriage to Theresa Breunig at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Jan. 22, 1972.

Randy worked as a carpenter for most of his life and lastly as a maintenance supervisor for Cardinal Glass in Spring Green, which he took great pride in.  His meticulous attention to detail was obvious in all of his projects – especially the 2 homes he built. Randy also had a special part in restoring the Harrisburg School in the town of Troy. After he was no longer able to physically build things, he still had plenty of expertise to share – and would certainly let you know if he thought there was a better, more perfect way of doing something!   He enjoyed manicuring his lawn, or could be found golfing at Lake Wisconsin Country Club where he was a longtime member.  Randy also loved to hunt - for deer, bear, elk and moose, which included many trips out west in search of the big trophy.  He and Terry were season ticket holders for the Badger football games for many years and they very much enjoyed traveling, including several Bowl games, golf trips out west and attending the Masters Golf Tournament.  He always enjoyed "touring the countryside" -whether for a Sunday drive locally, or visiting many National Parks around the country.  Randy also enjoyed snowmobiling, cross country and downhill skiing in earlier years.

Randy's grandchildren,  Savannah and Dalton, always brought a special twinkle to his eye. He enjoyed activities with them in earlier years and attending any of their games and performances when he could.

Randy is survived by his wife, Terry; daughter, Jennifer (Preston) Breunig and their children, Savannah and Dalton; siblings, Joe (Mary), Linda, Dale (Beth), Terry, Dennis, Donna, Rick (Stacey); in-laws Clara & Don Ziegler, Darlene Kirch & Trudy Wilson, as well as several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded by brothers, Gary, Walter and Fred.

Randy's family would like to thank Kevin and the amazing team at Agrace, as well as some very special caregivers & helpers who extended his time at home (the ONLY place he wanted to be) by years – your extraordinary help and kindness with Randy will never be forgotten.  This also includes Jenn's extended Breunig family, who were always willing to jump in and help with anything needed – especially Angie, who became an exceptional caregiver and companion for Randy and Terry.  Angie was always able to get a "smile" out of Randy, even during his last days.

As per Randy's wishes, a Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023 at the Lake Wisconsin Country Club (N1076 Golf Rd., Prairie du Sac), where he spent many happy times over the years - from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Parkinson's Disease Association in honor of Randy.
