Obituary

Reginald "Reggie" Ruhland, age 68, died on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born on March 7, 1943, the son of the late Walter and Agnes (Parr) Ruhland. He was united in marriage to Linda Peterson on August 15, 1970 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Mazomanie. Reggie was employed as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 314. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers and loved to play cards, but most importantly, spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.


He is survived by his wife, Linda of Sauk City; four children, Lynelle (Juan) Lara of Prairie du Sac, Denise (Tim) Branshaw of Waunakee, Sheila (Kurt) Zech of Baraboo and Ryan (Carla) Ruhland of Sauk City; seven grandchildren, Justin and Nicolas Lara, Kaylee and Isabella Branshaw, Kolyn Zech, and Keira and Elliot Ruhland; four sisters, Margaret Fargen of Spring Green, Leona Reisinger of Madison, Verda Rothwell of Sauk City and Agnes Ballweg of Lodi; a brother, Virgil (Jan) Ruhland of Mazomanie; mother-in-law, Helen Peterson and Nola Peterson, three brothers-in-law, Kenny (Ruthann) Peterson, Duaine (Debbie) Peterson and Rick Peterson; sister-in-law, Nancy Wilkinson; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Konner Zech; two brothers, Victor and Harland Ruhland; and two sisters, Jeannette Masino and Delphina Reeve.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. A visitation will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011.
