Richard Nelson Bertrang Sr. passed away Tuesday, July 13th 2010 at the age of 74. Richard was born on October 14th 1935 in Logan County, IL.

Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years Shirley, his children, Richard Jr. (wife Martha), James, Steve (wife Kimberly), and Bonnie (husband Richard). His sister, Joyce Swain, and brothers, Duane (wife Judy) and Terry (wife Debbie), grand kids Jamie, Jessica, Kenna, Eliana, Cailen, Brynn, and Ricky. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Orville and Alyce, his brothers Eddie, and Randy.

Richard retired from the University of Wisconsin Physical Plant in 1996 after 20 plus years. He loved playing with his grand children, gardening, and was known for his sense of humor. Richard served in the United States Air Force and attended Calvary Baptist Church for many years. Richard's life calling was helping others, and he often used his skills as a mechanic to help those in need.

A life celebration will be held at 1pm on Friday July 16th at Hooverson Funeral Home in Sauk City, WI with a visitation starting at 11am, with Pastor Dan Lindsey officiating. He is loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
