Richard "Wally" Charles Wallace, age 66, passed away at his home in Mazomanie on Wed. Apr. 13, 2016 after a 3 year battle with lung cancer. He was born in Madison on May
14, 1949 to the late Frank and Mae (Dolphin) Wallace. Wally graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School, class of 1967. He enlisted in the United State Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1974. After serving in the Air Force he moved to Las Vegas, later returning to Mazomanie where he worked at Wick Buildings and retired in 2010 after 29 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Madison. He enjoyed bowling, golf, shooting trap, and had a passion for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. He was a proud member of the NRA and the Wisconsin River Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his siblings, Dianne (Gary) Steinweher of Townsend, John Wallace of Merrill, and Sybyl (Richard) Wood of Black Earth. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister in-law, Carrie Wallace.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Sun., Apr., 24, 2016 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Hwy. 14 West, Mazomanie.
