Richard “Dick” A. Hall, age 88, of Prairie du Sac passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison on Friday, June 5, 2026. He was born March 8, 1938.
He was united in marriage to Rita Bindl in Bear Valley on Feb. 4, 1967; she preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 2015. Together they raised their son, Michael and made their home in Sauk Prairie where Dick worked for McFarlane’s for close to 50 years. He could also be seen riding the streets of Sauk Prairie on his moped and delivering the State Journal to residents on his route. Dick enjoyed woodworking projects and refinishing furniture for 50 years; some of his refinished pieces grace the State Capitol. He was also known to enjoy a few cigars and talking with his dearest friends. Dick loved to travel the Midwest and learn about different parts the Midwest and talking with people, never holding grudges or showing bitterness to anyone. His love was unconditional.
Dick is survived by his son, Michael (Robyn) Hall and their 2 children whom Dick loved and was very proud of, Asher and Anabel.
In addition to his wife, Rita; Dick was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Schiller, Shirley Keller, and Richard McNutt.
A funeral service for Dick will be held at the Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 5:00 pm; a visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until the time of service. A private interment will be held in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Dick’s name to the Boys and Girls Club.
Dick’s family would like to express their sincerest thanks to all the volunteers and staff at Sauk Prairie hospital where he met so many people and made so many friends.
