Richard Ardell Hermanson, age 80, born Jan. 18, 1937 the son of the late Alton M. and Eva M. (Nelson) Hermanson passed away peacefully at his home on Nov. 6, 2017 with the aid of Agrace Hospice. He attended and graduated from Argyle High School and was united in marriage to Rachel Alm at the Apple Grove Lutheran Church in 1956. He was a 50+ year and lifetime member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 139 and worked for 40 years at Wingra Stone Co. in Madison, retiring in 1999.

Richard is survived by his two sons, Greg (Kristina) and Kevin (Stephanie); granddaughter, Kailey Hermanson and step granddaughters, Tessa (Scott) Dreger, Amber (Matt) Sherwood, Ashley Hanna, and Amanda (Tim) Blaziewske; step great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Isabella, Destiny, Savanna, Noah, Rocco, Nora, and Audrey; sisters, Reta (John) Kratochvil, and Ruth Gierhart; brothers, Rolyn (Mary) and Dorian (Sue) Hermanson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Hermanson; his in-laws, Olin and Alice Alm; and brother's in-law, Earl and Robert Alm, and Roger Gierhart.

A celebration of Richards Life will be held on Sun., Nov., 12, 2017 at the Verona American Legion, 207 Legion St., Verona from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
